Three major airlines are launching new direct flights in 2025, strengthening global travel between Asia, Europe, and North America. Sichuan Airlines, Starlux Airlines, and Royal Jordanian are introducing nonstop routes that will enhance international connectivity. As a result, travelers will experience more convenient options for long-haul flights.

Sichuan Airlines is expanding its European reach with a direct route from Chengdu to Madrid. Starting April 27, 2025, the airline will operate four weekly flights using the Airbus A350-900. This will mark the first direct connection between Chengdu and Madrid. Consequently, the new route will reduce travel time and improve accessibility between China and Spain. In recent years, passenger demand for this route has increased significantly. Therefore, Sichuan Airlines is taking advantage of reduced competition from European carriers. Meanwhile, Madrid continues to grow as a major hub for Chinese air travel, making it a crucial addition to the airline’s expanding network.

At the same time, Starlux Airlines is strengthening its U.S. presence with a direct flight between Taipei and Ontario. Launching on June 2, 2025, this new route will be the airline’s second in the Los Angeles region. Additionally, the airline will deploy an Airbus A350-900 in a four-class configuration, ensuring a comfortable journey. Taiwanese travelers are driving demand for flights to Southern California. Because of this, Ontario has become a key addition to Starlux’s growing U.S. network. By July 2025, the airline will operate 28 weekly flights between Taiwan and the U.S. As a result, transpacific travel will become more accessible than ever before.

Meanwhile, Royal Jordanian is re-entering the Indian market after more than a decade. On April 17, 2025, the airline will introduce direct flights from Amman to Mumbai. Since trade, tourism, and expatriate travel between India and the Middle East are growing, this move is highly strategic. Furthermore, a second route to New Delhi will follow in September, further strengthening Royal Jordanian’s position in India.

Overall, these new direct flights will reshape international travel by improving accessibility and increasing options for global passengers. As airlines expand their intercontinental networks, travelers will enjoy more seamless and efficient journeys in 2025.
