New Nonstop Flights: Delta Connects Minneapolis to Copenhagen!

Delta Air Lines is thrilled to introduce a new nonstop route from Minneapolis-St. Paul to Copenhagen, launching in May 2025. This new service not only marks a significant step in Delta’s expansion into Scandinavia but also builds on a codeshare agreement with Scandinavian Airlines, a recent addition to the SkyTeam alliance. Furthermore, Delta operates a seasonal route to Copenhagen from New York’s JFK Airport, enhancing travel options for passengers even more.

Starting on May 22 and running through September 6, the Minneapolis-St. Paul to Copenhagen route will operate thrice weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. With this addition, travelers will have seven nonstop European destinations from Minnesota. Currently, existing routes include Amsterdam, London Heathrow, and Paris Charles de Gaulle, while seasonal flights will also go to Dublin, Reykjavik-Keflavik, and Rome Fiumicino.

Delta will utilize its Airbus A330-300 aircraft for the new route, offering a variety of seating options. The configuration includes 34 seats in Delta One, 21 in Premium Select, 24 in Delta Comfort, and 203 in the main cabin. This aircraft will ensure a comfortable experience for all passengers, allowing them to relax and enjoy their journey.

Moreover, this new route significantly strengthens Delta’s global network. The partnership with Scandinavian Airlines facilitates smoother passenger flow through Copenhagen into Delta’s broader network. Consequently, travelers from northern Europe can access numerous destinations in the Americas, including Mexico and Central America. Simultaneously, American travelers will have an exciting opportunity to explore Scandinavia.

Minnesota is home to a rich Scandinavian heritage, with over 100,000 residents claiming roots in the region. Early Norwegian and Swedish settlers played a crucial role in the state’s development, fostering deeper cultural connections and business ties that continue today.

Travelers flying with Delta can expect an enhanced airport experience at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. Delta operates three Sky Clubs at MSP, providing travelers with exceptional amenities such as gourmet meal offerings and premium beverages. Additionally, the recent opening of the Sky Deck, which accommodates over 450 guests, enhances the overall experience, making travel more enjoyable.

As Delta Air Lines enhances its service options, travelers from Minnesota can anticipate seamless connections to Europe. This new route will deepen cultural ties and support ongoing cross-Atlantic business relationships, benefiting both regions.
