American Airlines is enhancing its Charlotte to London Heathrow service with a daily Boeing 777-300ER flight. The new aircraft replaces the smaller 777-200ER, offering significant upgrades in both capacity and passenger experience.
The larger 777-300ER allows American Airlines to introduce Flagship First service on this route. This cabin now offers eight exclusive seats, featuring lie-flat options and a seat width of 21.5 inches. This upgrade targets high-paying passengers while increasing overall capacity, benefiting business, premium economy, and economy class travelers alike.
In terms of seat availability, the Boeing 777-300ER provides more space across all classes. The aircraft offers 8 first-class seats, 52 business-class seats, 28 premium economy seats, 28 Main Cabin Extra seats, and 188 economy seats. In comparison, the previous 777-200ER had fewer seats in each category. This change increases the total number of available seats, offering more options for travelers.
Although the transition from the 777-200ER to the 777-300ER reduces the business class seat width slightly, the overall capacity increase outweighs this small change. American Airlines ensures comfort for all passengers with modern amenities such as in-seat power, Wi-Fi, and seatback entertainment in all cabins.
The first flight, AA730, departed from Charlotte Douglas International at 18:47 and will arrive in London at 07:00 the next morning. The flight duration is just under nine hours. The aircraft will return to Charlotte the following day, maintaining this rotation for the coming days.
This upgrade is part of American Airlines’ ongoing commitment to providing improved services for travelers flying between Charlotte and London. Additionally, the airline remains the only operator offering direct flights from Charlotte to Heathrow.
American Airlines continues to offer multiple daily flights from Charlotte to London, with plans to expand further in the future.
