Aegean Airlines is taking a major step forward by entering the Indian market in 2026. As part of its international growth, the airline will launch direct flights from Athens to both New Delhi and Mumbai. This move strengthens the airline’s presence in South Asia and unlocks new opportunities for travelers.
Moreover, the airline will use its modern Airbus A321neo XLR aircraft to operate these long-haul flights. These jets can fly over ten hours nonstop, making them ideal for Greece–India routes. In addition, the cabins offer superior comfort, lie-flat Business Class seats, 4K entertainment screens, and satellite Wi-Fi.
Beginning in March 2026, Aegean Airlines will fly five times weekly to New Delhi. Following that, it will launch three weekly flights to Mumbai in May 2026. Consequently, travelers from Europe and India will enjoy faster, more comfortable journeys between the two regions.
Meanwhile, the airline is not stopping there. It also plans future services to other long-haul destinations, such as the Maldives and Seychelles. Once additional A321neo aircraft join the fleet in 2027 and 2028, the airline will unlock more expansion opportunities.
Currently, Aegean Airlines operates dozens of A320 and A321 jets. However, this new XLR model allows it to reach more distant destinations. As a result, the airline will grow its global network faster and more efficiently.
This India launch not only marks a milestone for the airline but also improves connectivity for business and leisure travelers. Therefore, Aegean Airlines will likely attract more passengers who seek direct, tech-enhanced, and smooth flying options. Clearly, Aegean Airlines is gearing up for global success by offering advanced aircraft, better routes, and wider access.
