One Crash. Eight Cancellations. Thousands of Passengers Left Scrambling.

Air India struggles to recover after a deadly crash killed 242 people in Ahmedabad. As a result, the airline canceled eight major flights, including international and domestic routes. Moreover, fear among travelers led to a sharp 20% drop in bookings within days.

Therefore, Air India moved fast to manage this crisis. It grounded affected aircraft and launched strict inspections. In addition, a bird strike delayed a Pune-bound flight, adding to the airline’s troubles. However, Air India arranged accommodations and rescheduling options to support affected passengers immediately.

Furthermore, airfare dropped by up to 15% as booking rates plunged. Travelers, especially on international routes, avoided flying with Air India. Meanwhile, domestic routes also saw a 10–12% booking fall. Still, experts believe that demand may bounce back once safety concerns fade.

To support grieving families, the airline sent 500 employees and partnered with Tata Group staff. Additionally, it cut 15% of international flights until mid-July to focus on pre-flight checks. Even so, Air India plans to restore operations gradually over the coming weeks.

On social media, critics questioned Air India’s handling of the tragedy. In response, the airline defended its actions and promised long-term support for crew families. Although the crash investigation continues, Air India cooperates fully with authorities.

Looking ahead, Air India must rebuild trust with travelers quickly. It needs to focus on transparent updates and improved flight safety. Above all, restoring confidence remains its top priority in this challenging time.
