Ontario Airport Poised for Record 7 Million Passengers This Year!

Ontario International Airport is on a record-breaking path this year, aiming to serve over seven million passengers. Located near Los Angeles, Ontario International Airport offers a prime location and growth potential. With no flight restrictions or curfews, the airport has seen a surge in both passenger numbers and cargo operations.

In September, Ontario International Airport recorded a 9% increase in passengers compared to last year, reaching 606,015 travelers. Of these, most were domestic passengers, while a smaller number flew internationally. This growth puts the airport on track to surpass seven million passengers by the end of the year. This achievement highlights the airport’s strategic importance to the region.

Established in 1923, Ontario International Airport has a rich history. Originally known as Latimer Field, it began as a small flying club. Over time, it transformed into a significant hub, playing a role in military operations and eventually becoming a key player in cargo transportation. Its recent $90 million runway rehabilitation project further strengthens its position as a vital gateway for both passenger and cargo services.

Southwest Airlines leads the charge at Ontario International Airport, offering numerous direct routes across the country. Other major airlines like Frontier, American, Delta, and Alaska Airlines also contribute to its rapid expansion. Moreover, the airport remains a top cargo hub, with services operated by several major cargo carriers.

As Ontario International Airport continues to grow, both passenger and cargo numbers reflect the airport’s growing influence in Southern California. The airport’s unique advantages ensure its continued success in the years to come.
