China Eastern Airlines shines at the 2024 Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Global Leaders Conference in Shanghai. As the only airline in the civil aviation sector, the airline highlighted its dedication to sustainable practices. Additionally, it shared its latest achievements in environmental, social, and governance efforts. This important event took place on October 16, thus showing the urgent need for responsible growth in aviation.

The conference, themed “Uniting for Global Prosperity,” welcomed over 800 participants. Notably, influential leaders and industry experts joined discussions on green finance, energy sustainability, and reaching “dual carbon” goals. Furthermore, this teamwork emphasizes the shared goal of creating a greener future for aviation and beyond.

At the event, China Eastern Airlines introduced several new technologies that clearly show its commitment to sustainable aviation. For instance, it revealed a Smart Inspection Platform for Bore Damage, which significantly improves aircraft maintenance. In addition, the airline launched anti-fatigue wristbands for pilots and security staff. Consequently, these wristbands help enhance safety and efficiency. Furthermore, the airline showcased anti-impact luggage wristbands, which improve the handling and security of passenger bags.

As the “Official Airline Service Provider” for the conference, China Eastern Airlines made travel simple for over 50 delegates from major cities worldwide. Its famous “Four Excellences” service offered smooth, one-stop travel solutions, which left a positive impression on guests.

Moreover, China Eastern Airlines continues to lead in green aviation with the launch of the C919, China’s first locally produced commercial airliner. After a successful first flight, the airline has included the C919 in regular service, thereby contributing to energy-saving and low-carbon aviation efforts.

With 16 years of consistent ESG reporting, the airline shows its dedication to transparency and accountability. In fact, its MSCI ESG Ratings reflect strong performance, earning an “A” rating in both 2020 and 2021.
