Qantas and Airbus have invested AUD$15 million into Climate Tech Partners (CTP) to advance sustainable aviation. Their joint effort focuses on reducing aviation’s environmental impact by developing sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and other technologies.
This partnership marks a crucial step in transforming the Australian aviation sector. Qantas and Airbus are leveraging their collaboration with CTP to drive key innovations that will help decarbonize the aviation industry. The investment will directly support the production of SAF and other essential technological advancements.
CTP focuses on accelerating climate innovations by working with corporate partners. Through this partnership, CTP aims to accelerate SAF development and scalability, driving progress in feedstock production and other critical areas. The AUD$15 million funding, invested in Australian start-ups, will help close the gap between early-stage technologies and their commercial application.
The joint effort follows Qantas and Airbus’s earlier commitment, made in 2022, to invest US$200 million in global SAF production. The new partnership enables both companies to further invest in successful start-ups and integrate their technologies into real-world aviation projects in Australia.
