Qantas & Jetstar Celebrate Women’s Day with Historic Flights

Qantas & Jetstar are making history by operating over 50 flights with all-female crews. This bold initiative, leading up to International Women’s Day, involves more than 250 women across various roles. By taking this step, the airlines aim to highlight women’s contributions to aviation while inspiring future generations to pursue careers in the industry.

The first of these special flights took off today, marking the start of a week-long celebration. Over the next few days, flights will connect major Australian cities as well as international destinations like Tokyo and Auckland. In addition to pilots and cabin crew, female engineers and operations staff are playing key roles. As a result, Qantas & Jetstar are breaking stereotypes and encouraging more women to enter traditionally male-dominated fields.

Although progress has been made, gender disparity in aviation remains a challenge. Today, women still represent a small percentage of pilots and engineers worldwide. To change this, Qantas has expanded scholarships and outreach programs designed to support aspiring female aviators. Furthermore, the airline is actively working to create a more inclusive industry by increasing opportunities for women at all levels.

Meanwhile, Vietjet is celebrating International Women’s Day differently by launching a massive ticket sale. The airline is offering significant discounts to passengers who book during the promotional period. While this approach is different from Qantas & Jetstar’s initiative, it still honors the occasion in a meaningful way.

By leading this movement, Qantas & Jetstar are setting a new standard for the aviation industry. These flights are not just about celebration but also about driving change. With ongoing efforts, more women will step into leadership roles, shaping the future of aviation.
