Qantas has introduced two new direct routes to reshape domestic air travel across Australia. By connecting Perth with Newcastle and Hobart, Qantas makes regional flights faster and more convenient. As a result, these additions support travelers who want to skip time-consuming stopovers.

Travelers flying between Newcastle and Perth will now save hours by avoiding transfers in Sydney. Starting September 8, Qantas will offer three weekly flights on this route. With a five-hour flight time, Qantas will provide over 45,000 seats annually. This move finally links New South Wales’ Hunter Region with Western Australia.

Besides convenience, the new route strengthens economic activity between east and west. Moreover, it connects the Hunter Region to Western Australia’s mining and infrastructure sectors. Consequently, this opens doors for fly-in/fly-out operations. These changes support growth in regional trade and employment.

In addition, Qantas will restore direct flights between Perth and Hobart starting September 26. This route gives Tasmanian travelers easier access to Western Australia without stopovers. The service operates on Mondays, Fridays, and Sundays, offering up to 32,000 seats each year.

To encourage early bookings, Qantas offers special one-way fares starting at $299. These low launch prices make it easier to plan travel on both routes. Overall, Qantas demonstrates its commitment to a more connected Australia. By reducing travel barriers, the airline supports smoother, smarter trips for everyone — from business travelers to families. Furthermore, the updated network promotes tourism and regional development.
