Ryanair has announced a major expansion in Morocco. A new base will open in Rabat in April 2026. With a US$200 million investment, Ryanair will position two aircraft there. The new base will launch 20 new routes for the summer season. Seven of these routes will directly connect Rabat to major European cities, like Milan, Porto, and Frankfurt. This expansion strengthens Ryanair’s footprint in Morocco, a key North African market.
This base is also strategic for Morocco, which is preparing to co-host the 2030 FIFA World Cup. The event is expected to boost tourism and business travel. Ryanair’s expanded network will play a key role in increasing connectivity. By opening the Rabat base, Ryanair reinforces its long-term commitment to Morocco.
The new base will create over 800 jobs, including 60 roles for pilots and cabin crew. It will also generate jobs in ground handling, airport operations, and local services. This job creation will support economic growth in the region. Additionally, the base will increase Rabat’s flight capacity by 45%, enhancing access for travelers.
Ryanair’s total investment in Morocco now exceeds US$1.6 billion. The airline has created over 8,500 direct and indirect jobs. Ryanair continues to play a crucial role in Morocco’s economy. With more routes and greater accessibility, it helps shape Morocco’s future as a travel hub.
