Southwest Airlines to Launch Nonstop Flights to Honolulu from Ontario

Southwest Airlines will launch daily nonstop flights from Ontario International Airport (ONT) to Honolulu starting June 4, 2026. This new service offers a direct connection for travelers between California and Hawaii, increasing convenience for those flying to the islands.

The flight will depart Ontario in the morning and return from Honolulu in the evening. This new route complements existing services from Alaska Airlines, offering more options for passengers heading to Hawaii. The increased seating capacity addresses growing demand for travel to the Aloha State.

Ontario International Airport (ONT) is Southern California’s second-largest mid-sized airport. Southwest, the airport’s largest airline, is strengthening its partnership with ONT. This new nonstop route will attract more passengers, benefiting both business and leisure travelers.

Southwest’s Boeing 737 MAX 8 jets will operate the route, offering 175 seats. The jets are equipped with in-seat power and free Wi-Fi for Rapid Rewards members. Starting January 27, 2026, passengers can choose from standard, preferred, and expanded legroom seating for added comfort.

California residents are eager for direct flights to Hawaii, and this new route meets that need. Ontario International Airport provides an alternative to the busy Los Angeles International (LAX). Southwest’s new service offers more options for those traveling to one of the most popular destinations in the Pacific.
