SWISS is making air travel more accessible for passengers with hidden disabilities. The airline has partnered with the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower program, launching on November 1, 2025. The initiative aims to help travelers with conditions like autism, ADHD, epilepsy, and dementia, ensuring they receive the support they need during their journeys.
Travelers can wear Sunflower lanyards, which discreetly signal their need for assistance. These lanyards, featuring a sunflower design on a green background, will be available at Zurich and Geneva airports. The initiative aims to help over one billion people living with hidden disabilities worldwide.
The lanyards are voluntary. Passengers can choose to wear them to alert staff that they may need extra time or support. While the lanyards do not offer priority boarding, they help create a more understanding and supportive environment.
SWISS’s partnership with the Sunflower program reflects its commitment to inclusivity. This move aligns with a global effort to make air travel more accessible for everyone, regardless of visible or hidden disabilities.
The Sunflower program is growing worldwide. With SWISS on board, more airports and airlines will likely join, ensuring better travel experiences for all.
