TAP Air Portugal Launches Direct Porto-Boston Flights

TAP Air Portugal strengthens its transatlantic network by adding a new direct route from Porto to Boston. Consequently, this connection operates four times weekly—on Mondays, Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays—until October 25. As a result, travelers now enjoy faster, simpler access between northern Portugal and one of the U.S.’s top cities.

Moreover, this service becomes the second U.S. route from Porto, following TAP Air Portugal’s Newark flights. Therefore, passengers benefit from expanded travel options across the Atlantic. In addition, the airline uses the Airbus A321LR for this route, which ensures fuel efficiency and long-range performance. The aircraft features 168 seats, including 16 in business class for added comfort.

Furthermore, TAP Air Portugal offers round-trip fares starting at €529, making this route an affordable choice. As a result, travelers—including students, tourists, and professionals—can plan direct journeys without stopovers. The flight from Porto to Boston lasts seven hours and thirty-five minutes, while the return flight takes six hours and forty minutes.

Consequently, this launch boosts Porto’s presence in international aviation while supporting Portugal’s strategic economic goals. More importantly, it enhances tourism by encouraging American travelers to explore Portugal’s cultural landmarks and coastal cities. Additionally, this route strengthens economic connections between Boston’s tech-driven economy and Portugal’s startup ecosystem.

TAP Air Portugal also continues expanding its U.S. footprint with new Lisbon routes to Los Angeles and San Francisco. These developments, in turn, reflect Portugal’s ambition to become a major European gateway to North America. They also improve travel convenience by reducing layovers and shortening total flight times.

As Porto evolves into a leading air hub, TAP Air Portugal plays a critical role in meeting global demand. Ultimately, this Boston route helps reinforce TAP Air Portugal’s status as a premier carrier connecting Portugal to the world.
