In 2025, American Airlines, Alaska Airlines, and Hawaiian Airlines will enhance the passenger experience at John F. Kennedy International Airport by centralizing their operations at Terminal 8. Hawaiian Airlines started the change with its daily Honolulu flight from Terminal 8. By October, both Hawaiian and Alaska Airlines will fully transition to the terminal. They will move their gates, check-in counters, and other services. Terminal 8 will soon serve as a hub for 10 Oneworld carriers, including American Airlines.
This transition is part of a $125 million redevelopment plan led by American Airlines. The project aims to improve customer service and create a smoother travel experience. Terminal 8’s redesign will provide better connections, access to premium lounges, and over 60 new shopping and dining options. This effort aims to set a new standard for traveler comfort and efficiency at JFK.
First Class passengers from Alaska and Hawaiian Airlines will enjoy access to the American Airlines Admirals Club lounge. Travelers with lie-flat seating in premium cabins can access the Greenwich Lounge, which offers upscale dining and a relaxing atmosphere. This move strengthens the partnership between American Airlines and its Oneworld® affiliates, improving cooperation and the passenger experience.
American Airlines continues expanding its global network. With this change at Terminal 8, JFK will enhance its role in global travel, offering better service to passengers flying to over 350 destinations worldwide.
