Emirates is gearing up for a major surge in travel this festive season. The airline expects a significant increase in passenger numbers this December, with daily departures from Dubai International Airport rising sharply. In 2023, over 75,000 Emirates travelers flew daily. This year, that number will soar to 89,000 on peak days, marking a nearly 20% rise.
Emirates anticipates the busiest travel days will occur from December 12 to 15 and then from December 20 to 22. This period falls just before Christmas, with another spike in traffic expected on December 27, 28, and 29. As the New Year approaches, over 88,000 passengers will depart each day.
To ensure a smooth journey, Emirates advises travelers to arrive at least three hours before their flight. Early arrival will help avoid delays and allow plenty of time for check-in procedures. Passengers can enjoy various check-in options, including the newly renovated First and Business Class counters at Dubai International, the Emirates City Check-In & Travel Store, or the convenient home check-in and remote check-in services.
For an even more seamless experience, Emirates passengers can make use of the Emirates app. The app enables travelers to check flight details, change bookings, and access digital boarding passes. They can also pre-order meals, select in-flight entertainment, and receive notifications about their flight status. Online check-in is available up to 48 hours before departure through the app or website.
Emirates also offers a unique advantage for its travelers. Passengers can drop off their luggage the night before their flight. For flights departing from Dubai, travelers can check in and drop off luggage up to 24 hours in advance. This added convenience allows them to head straight to immigration closer to their flight’s departure time.
