This Winter, Frankfurt Airport Boosts Flights to Exciting Global Destinations!

Frankfurt Airport is set to welcome a new winter flight schedule starting on October 27, 2024. With 79 airlines connecting 243 destinations in 93 countries, Frankfurt Airport continues its reign as Germany’s top international hub. This season, airlines offer over 3,600 weekly flights, providing around 675,000 seats. Notably, this represents a four percent increase compared to last year, which saw disruptions due to strikes. Thus, Frankfurt Airport’s global reach and extensive intercontinental destinations remain unmatched.

This winter, exciting new connections to Northern Europe begin. For instance, Lufthansa will fly to Rovaniemi, Finland, known for its spectacular Northern Lights. Additionally, Discover Airlines expands its routes to Scandinavia, adding Kittilä in Finland and Alta in Norway. Both Lufthansa and Discover Airlines will start these routes with twice-weekly service in November and December, just in time for holiday travelers.

Moreover, Discover Airlines will offer winter flights to Ibiza for the first time, making it a year-round destination. Similarly, Condor and Discover Airlines are expanding their long-haul routes to Latin America. Specifically, Condor will fly to Los Cabos, Mexico, and boost flights to Punta Cana with a new stop in Antigua. Furthermore, Discover Airlines will launch new direct flights to Tulum, which will be the only direct connection from Europe to this popular Mexican destination.

In addition, Lufthansa will maintain its new U.S. routes to Raleigh-Durham and Minneapolis-St. Paul during winter. In the Far East, Condor expands its Thailand routes, while T’way Air boosts flights to Seoul. Consequently, this brings the total weekly connections to South Korea to 19. Etihad Airways will also add flights to Abu Dhabi, offering two daily services starting in February 2025.

Furthermore, Vistara will move to Terminal 1 and merge operations with Air India in November. Similarly, SAS Scandinavian Airlines will shift to Terminal 2, aligning with the SkyTeam alliance’s new arrangements.
