Turkish Airlines has marked a major milestone in its global expansion. The airline’s longest flight, connecting Istanbul and Sydney, sets a new benchmark for long-haul travel. On November 29th, Turkish Airlines launched its historic route to Sydney, adding another significant achievement to its growing network. With this new connection, the airline now covers 351 destinations across six continents. Sydney becomes its second Australian destination after Melbourne, which was added earlier this year.
To operate this route, Turkish Airlines uses its state-of-the-art Airbus A350-900 aircraft. This advanced aircraft features 32 fully flatbed seats in business class and 297 reclining seats in economy. Consequently, passengers can expect a high level of comfort during this 9,300-mile flight, which takes about 19 hours. The flight operates four times a week with a stopover in Kuala Lumpur, further strengthening Turkish Airlines’ position as a leader in long-haul travel.
Moreover, this new route enhances the connection between Türkiye and Australia. It creates more opportunities for tourism, business, and cultural exchanges. In addition, Australian travelers will benefit from easier access to Turkish Airlines’ extensive network, enabling them to reach more global destinations. Turkish Airlines is well-known for its exceptional service and hospitality, making this expansion even more attractive for international travelers.
As a result of this expansion, Turkish Airlines continues to build its presence in Australia. The airline’s launch of services to Melbourne earlier in the year has already laid a solid foundation. Now, the addition of Sydney paves the way for further advancements. Looking ahead, Turkish Airlines plans to introduce direct, non-stop flights between Sydney and Istanbul, significantly improving travel between these iconic cities.
Turkish Airlines remains committed to offering passengers superior service and enhanced global connectivity, setting the stage for future growth.
