Turkish Airlines experienced strong growth in January 2025, with a sharp rise in passenger numbers on both domestic and international routes. The airline carried 6.77 million travelers, reflecting an 8.2% increase from the same period in 2024. International traffic surged by 10%, reaching 4.47 million passengers, while domestic travel grew 4.9% to 2.3 million.
Higher demand contributed to an improved load factor, climbing from 80.3% in January 2024 to 82.4% last month. The international load factor reached 82.3%, while domestic flights operated at 83.5% efficiency. With travel demand rising, the airline expanded seat capacity by 9.5%, reaching 98,364 seats.
Turkish Airlines also expanded its fleet to keep up with passenger demand. The number of aircraft grew from 440 to 477, allowing the airline to extend its global reach. By the end of January 2025, it served 352 destinations, up from 340 the previous year. This expansion aligned with the airline’s long-term strategy of strengthening its global presence.
In 2024, Turkish Airlines transported 85.2 million passengers, marking a 2.1% rise from 2023. International travelers increased by 2.9%, reaching 54.6 million, while domestic travel saw modest growth of 0.7%, totaling 30.6 million. This upward trend highlights the airline’s resilience and growing market share in global aviation.
With passenger numbers on the rise, Turkish Airlines continues to strengthen its position as a global leader. The airline’s strategic growth, fleet expansion, and improved load factor indicate a strong outlook for the coming months.
