United Airlines is anticipating increased demand from college football fans who are eager to attend live games this season.
On Tuesday, the airline announced the introduction of 20 nonstop flights and an increase in aircraft size on 115 routes to facilitate access to 30 highly anticipated college football matchups this fall.
Highlighted games include:
- University of Texas-Austin vs. University of Michigan on September 7
- Ohio State vs. University of Oregon on October 12
- University of Alabama vs. Louisiana State University on November 9
\”Facilitating connections for travelers during significant moments is fundamental to our mission at United,\” stated Patrick Quayle, United\’s Senior Vice President of Global Network Planning and Alliances. \”We believe that fans will value this year\’s tailored football schedule, which enhances their ability to support their teams away from home.\”
Except for one game scheduled over Memorial Day weekend, these routes are designed for travel on Fridays with return flights set for Sundays.
Last year, the airline expanded its flight offerings to cater to the millions of college football supporters wishing to witness live competitions nationwide. The NCAA reports a strong attendance record, averaging approximately 41,867 fans per game in 2023.
