Ontario International Airport (ONT) grows rapidly as United Airlines introduces a nonstop route between Ontario and Chicago O’Hare. The new daily service, starting in May 2025, boosts ONT’s role as a key transportation hub in Southern California. United Airlines’ expansion strengthens Ontario’s connectivity, offering direct access to one of the U.S.’s most iconic cities.
ONT, the fastest-growing mid-sized airport in California, has seen impressive growth since transitioning to local control in 2016. In 2024, the airport welcomed over 7 million passengers, a significant increase from pre-pandemic levels. With this new route to Chicago O’Hare, Ontario adds its 27th nonstop destination, reinforcing its reputation as an essential gateway for Inland Empire travelers.
United Airlines further solidifies its presence in Ontario with this new route. It complements other nonstop services to Denver and Houston. Chicago O’Hare, a major United hub, gives travelers from Ontario more connecting options. The route benefits both business travelers looking for efficient connections and leisure passengers visiting Chicago or other destinations.
United Airlines will use the Boeing 737-800 for this route. The aircraft offers multiple seating classes, ensuring comfort for all passengers. This new service enhances Ontario’s global reach, providing passengers with more flexibility and international connections. As ONT continues to grow, the new flight meets rising demand for seamless travel options.
With United Airlines expanding at Ontario, the airport strengthens its position in California’s air travel market. ONT aims to attract more routes and airlines in the future, further boosting its role in the global travel network.
