United Airlines expands its global reach with a new nonstop route between San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and Panama City, Panama. The service will start on May 22, 2025, with daily, year-round flights operated by Boeing 737 aircraft. United, SFO’s largest airline, becomes the only U.S. carrier offering direct flights from San Francisco to Panama City.
This route is part of United’s broader efforts to strengthen its presence in Latin America. It marks the airline’s ninth Latin American destination from SFO and its fourth in Central America. United Airlines shows its commitment to providing more travel options to and from the region.
Alongside the Panama City route, United Airlines launched nonstop flights to Monterrey, Mexico, in October 2024. The airline will also begin flights to Belize on December 21, 2024, and San Jose, Costa Rica, on May 22, 2025, coinciding with the Panama City launch.
San Francisco International Airport continues to enhance the traveler experience with seamless connectivity, sustainability, and premium amenities. SFO strives to offer exceptional journeys for every passenger. With this latest expansion, United Airlines strengthens its role in SFO’s growing global network.
The new Panama City route underscores United Airlines’ commitment to connecting travelers to key Latin American destinations. Passengers can now easily fly from the Bay Area to Panama City, improving both business and leisure travel options.
