United Airlines expands its global network with a new seasonal route between Tokyo Narita and Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Starting May 1, 2025, the service will run three times a week, offering passengers a direct connection to one of Asia’s most captivating destinations.
This step marks a significant milestone in United’s international growth. The airline already leads U.S. carriers in network size and will soon serve 147 international destinations. The Tokyo-Ulaanbaatar route will become a vital addition, catering to the rising demand for travel to Mongolia.
Ulaanbaatar attracts more travelers seeking adventure. Mongolia’s vast landscapes and rich culture offer unique experiences like trekking the Gobi Desert and camping in the Altai Mountains. The country’s decision to grant visa-free entry to citizens from 34 more countries has boosted its popularity.
With this route, United Airlines offers American travelers an easy way to visit Mongolia, with convenient connections from Tokyo. The Boeing 737-800 aircraft will serve this route, offering a two-class layout with both economy and first-class seats. United chose this aircraft size based on expected demand between the cities.
Passengers can easily connect through Tokyo Narita, a central hub for United’s Asia-Pacific services. United Airlines’ new service to Ulaanbaatar reinforces the airline’s commitment to connecting diverse global destinations, improving travel options for both leisure and business travelers.
