United Airlines launches bold new routes into Southeast Asia. Beginning in October 2025, the airline will start daily fifth freedom flights from the U.S. to Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City via Hong Kong. As a result, American travelers will gain better access to two of Asia’s most exciting cities. Moreover, United Airlines uses this expansion to meet the region’s growing demand for international travel.

Flights will depart daily from San Francisco and Los Angeles. Additionally, United will operate these routes using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners. These modern jets include four cabin classes, which meet various traveler needs. Because Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City attract both tourists and professionals, the new flights provide an ideal option for convenient access.

Thailand, for instance, expects over 40 million tourists in 2025. Meanwhile, Vietnam continues to attract global business interest. Therefore, United Airlines added more frequencies to meet this rising demand. In doing so, it strengthens its position in the competitive transpacific travel market.

Furthermore, these fifth freedom flights allow travelers to explore more destinations in one trip. Since passengers can travel between Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City without returning to Hong Kong or the U.S., the route increases flexibility. This change, in turn, supports United’s broader international growth strategy.

In addition to these routes, United also expands its services to Manila and Adelaide. Specifically, a second daily flight to Manila begins in October 2025. Likewise, a seasonal service to Adelaide from San Francisco launches in December. Through these new routes, United deepens its reach across the Asia-Pacific region.
