United Airlines boosts its transatlantic service with major improvements for travelers. The airline will expand its Edinburgh to Washington D.C. route starting October 26. Instead of a seasonal daily flight, United Airlines will operate five flights weekly until January 5, 2026. This update adds a 10% increase in seat capacity, making travel between Scotland and America more flexible.
United Airlines will resume the service on February 20, 2026, after a short winter break. Daily flights will return on March 29, 2026, giving travelers more scheduling choices. United Airlines continues to show strong commitment by building its transatlantic network with Edinburgh as a key hub. Already, the airline runs year-round flights between Edinburgh and New York/Newark, doubling frequency during the summer surge.
The airline also operates a seasonal daily flight from Edinburgh to Chicago O’Hare. With these services, United Airlines stands as the only carrier offering year-round nonstop connections from Edinburgh to the United States. Travelers will enjoy greater flexibility, better seat availability, and direct links to major American cities.
This expansion comes as travel demand across the Atlantic surges. Many travelers seek reliable, frequent options for both business and leisure. United Airlines seizes this momentum by offering unmatched convenience and service. The airline’s expansion also boosts Edinburgh’s reputation as a strong gateway to the United States.
