United Airlines’ MileagePlus program helps travelers boost their flying experience through Premier status. Frequent travelers can earn rewards and unlock exclusive perks. The four elite tiers—Premier Silver, Premier Gold, Premier Platinum, and Premier 1K—offer benefits like priority boarding, free baggage, and upgrades.
Achieving Premier status takes less effort than expected. United Airlines bases your status on Premium Qualifying Points (PQP) and Premium Qualifying Flights (PQF). Earn PQPs through flights, award tickets, or credit card spending. Frequent flyers or smart credit card users can easily reach Premier Silver, Gold, or even 1K status. PQPs are also available for flights on United’s Star Alliance partners or other airline partners.
You need 5,000 PQPs or 4,000 PQPs with 12 flights to achieve Premier Silver. Premier Gold demands 10,000 PQPs or 8,000 PQPs with 24 flights. Premier Platinum and 1K require 15,000 and 24,000 PQPs. You can earn PQPs faster by flying more.
Credit card spending helps too. The United Explorer Card gives 1,000 PQPs annually. Premium cards like the United Club Infinite Card offer up to 10,000 PQPs. You also earn PQPs by redeeming award tickets on United flights, which is rare among loyalty programs.
Premier status benefits extend beyond United Airlines. Star Alliance Gold status offers fast-track security, lounge access, and extra baggage when flying with partners. Travelers gain elite benefits easily through United Airlines’ MileagePlus program.
For frequent flyers, Premier status with United Airlines brings convenience and more value to every trip.
