Vietjet Expands with New Route and Major Investment

Vietjet is strengthening its presence in Southeast Asia with a new air route and a $300 million investment. The airline announced a direct SingaporePhu Quoc flight and secured funding for fleet expansion. These moves will boost tourism and trade between Vietnam and Singapore.

Starting May 30, 2025, Vietjet will operate four weekly flights between Singapore and Phu Quoc. This addition increases its weekly Vietnam-Singapore flights to 78. The airline expects to transport over 500,000 passengers yearly between the two nations. Since launching Singapore-Ho Chi Minh City flights in 2014, Vietjet has flown 2.6 million passengers on this route. The new connection will further strengthen economic and cultural ties.

To expand its fleet, Vietjet signed a $300 million financing deal with Carlyle Aviation Partners. This agreement supports aircraft deliveries in 2025 and 2026. Vietjet aims to enhance its operations with modern planes. Carlyle Aviation Partners, a major aircraft leasing company, plays a key role in global aviation.

Additionally, Vietjet partnered with Satair, an Airbus Services company, to optimize its fleet management. The deal ensures a steady supply of parts for its Airbus A320 and A330 aircraft. By securing reliable inventory and logistics support, the airline reduces costs and improves efficiency.

Vietjet remains committed to growth and innovation. The airline operates over 115 aircraft and has served more than 230 million passengers. As Singapore continues to be Vietnam’s top investor, this expansion strengthens economic collaboration. Vietjet’s strategic partnerships contribute billions to regional trade, making air travel more accessible and efficient.
