Vietjet is taking a big step toward sustainability by working with OpenAirlines, a leader in AI-driven fuel efficiency. This move makes Vietjet the first airline in Vietnam to use SkyBreathe®, a smart platform that studies flight data and improves fuel use.
Since SkyBreathe® processes real-time aircraft data, it quickly finds ways to save fuel. As a result, the airline can cut CO2 emissions while improving efficiency. So far, the platform has analyzed over 21 million flights, helping pilots and flight crews make better choices. With this system, Vietjet expects to use 2% less fuel, which will lower CO2 emissions by over 96,000 tons each year.
Additionally, Vietjet is adopting SkyBreathe® MyFuelCoach, an AI tool that gives pilots eco-briefings. This system helps them track fuel use, improve performance, and follow best practices. By using AI, Vietjet strengthens its goal of making flights more eco-friendly.
As a member of the 73-airline SkyBreathe® Community, Vietjet will benefit from expert support and insights. This global network allows airlines to share knowledge and continuously improve their fuel efficiency strategies.
Vietjet remains one of the fastest-growing airlines in Asia-Pacific, regularly expanding its routes and fleet. The airline links major Vietnamese cities, such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang, with top international destinations. Recently, it launched direct flights from Bangalore and Hyderabad to Ho Chi Minh City, making travel easier to places like Bali, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, and Australia.
By using AI-powered tools, Vietjet boosts fuel efficiency and reduces costs while staying committed to sustainability. The airline’s investment in smart technology improves operations and supports a greener future.
