Virgin Atlantic Expands Horizons with New London–Phuket Flights

Virgin Atlantic is set to connect London and Phuket through new direct flights starting in October 2026. The airline will introduce this seasonal route from Heathrow to Phuket International Airport, offering travelers a smooth and convenient way to reach Thailand’s tropical paradise. Moreover, this launch strengthens Virgin Atlantic’s expanding leisure network while deepening the travel link between the UK and Southeast Asia.

As travel demand grows, the timing of this launch feels perfect. The new connection meets the increasing interest among British travelers seeking warm-weather escapes. Additionally, Virgin Atlantic will operate three weekly flights using its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, ensuring comfort and efficiency across Upper Class, Premium, and Economy cabins. Each journey will last around twelve hours eastbound and nearly fourteen hours westbound, allowing travelers to relax before arriving on Phuket’s golden shores.

Furthermore, Virgin Atlantic will enhance the route through dedicated vacation packages under Virgin Atlantic Holidays. Packages will start at £999 for seven nights in a four-star hotel and £1,599 for five-star options. In addition, these all-inclusive deals will cover airfare, hotels, and local transfers, creating a seamless travel experience. Travelers can easily explore not only Phuket but also Krabi, Koh Samui, and Bangkok, ensuring broader access across Thailand’s tourism gems.

This expansion also boosts Thailand’s global tourism appeal. Phuket continues to draw visitors with its pristine beaches, coral reefs, and marine adventures. Moreover, the new service links tourists with local operators, helping them explore surrounding islands and resorts with ease.

Ultimately, Virgin Atlantic’s decision reflects its strategy to expand winter leisure routes. The airline already serves top destinations like Cancun, the Maldives, Dubai, and Cape Town. Now, with Phuket added, travelers gain another gateway to sunshine and relaxation. Consequently, this connection enhances the UK–Thailand tourism corridor and energizes long-haul leisure travel growth.
