Virgin Australia has unveiled its five longest routes for October 2024, all exceeding 2,700 miles. Among these, one route crosses the 3,000-mile threshold, showcasing the airline’s extensive network. Let’s explore these routes, which connect Australia with popular destinations.

The most frequently operated route is from Melbourne to Bali. This route covers 2,718 miles and features 55 flights throughout October. Virgin Australia offers 26,310,240 Available Seat Miles (ASMs) on this route. Each flight has 9,680 seats available, making it the airline’s busiest international connection. Virgin Australia competes with several other airlines, ensuring plenty of options for travelers.

Next, the Brisbane to Bali route spans 2,789 miles and has 30 scheduled flights. Virgin Australia provides 176 seats per flight, resulting in a total of 10,560 seats available in October. Passengers can choose between economy and business class, but premium economy and first-class options are unavailable for this route. Other airlines also service this route, providing travelers with additional choices.

Another route, from Gold Coast to Bali, measures 2,830 miles. However, it features the fewest operations, with only 13 flights scheduled. This route has a total of 2,288 seats, making it less accessible compared to the others. Virgin Australia is the sole carrier offering direct flights on this route, reflecting its unique service offerings.

The Sydney to Bali route also matches the Brisbane route with 30 flights and spans 2,871 miles. Virgin Australia operates the longest flights on this route. Lastly, the only route surpassing 3,000 miles connects Cairns to Tokyo, covering a distance of 3,627 miles. Although this route offers unique opportunities, Virgin Australia will cease operations in February 2025 due to low demand.

Overall, Virgin Australia showcases a diverse range of long-haul routes, highlighting its commitment to connecting Australia with key destinations.
