Virgin Australia is overhauling its airport security with new Priority Screening lanes at Sydney and Brisbane airports. The airline is replacing the old Premium Entry lanes to speed up the process. This change targets frequent flyers and business travelers, improving convenience and efficiency.
The new lanes will allow faster screening using advanced technology. Business class passengers, Velocity members, and travelers with partner airlines can access these lanes. This change ensures smoother security and less waiting time.
Virgin Australia is also extending the hours for the Priority Screening lanes. In Brisbane, the lanes will be open all day. In Sydney, they will be available during peak hours. This change makes it easier for travelers to access the lanes during busy times.
The Premium Entry lanes in Sydney will close permanently. In Brisbane, the lanes will be temporarily unavailable due to renovations. Passengers flying from Brisbane will use the new Priority Screening lanes until the renovations are done next year.
Virgin Australia is also updating its baggage policy for economy class passengers in 2026. The new policy allows an extra 1kg for carry-on luggage. This change makes it easier for passengers to manage their bags while traveling.
