Volotea is strengthening its European network by introducing a direct route between Murcia and Marseille. Starting July 7, 2025, travelers will enjoy direct access from Murcia International Airport to southern France. Volotea’s move marks a major milestone for Murcia’s tourism and business sectors. Moreover, this new link enhances the region’s international footprint, especially in France, its second-largest tourism market.
Previously, travelers faced multiple layovers to reach France. Now, Volotea offers a smooth connection to Marseille, one of France’s top cultural hubs. Marseille’s stunning coastline and vibrant history will attract both leisure and business travelers. Meanwhile, Murcia stands ready to welcome French visitors eager to experience its beaches and Mediterranean charm.
In addition to the Marseille launch, Volotea is expanding its Murcia-Barcelona service. The airline will increase capacity between June 2025 and March 2026, giving travelers more flexible options to reach Spain’s cultural capital. More seats and more flights mean more opportunities for business and tourism to thrive between Murcia and Barcelona.
Murcia’s growing network now connects to 23 airports across seven countries. This surge positions Murcia as a crucial gateway to southern Spain. Volotea’s efforts significantly contribute to expanding the region’s accessibility and boosting its economy. The new Marseille connection is expected to stimulate economic growth by fostering stronger ties with France.
Since 2019, Volotea has played a vital role in Murcia’s aviation success. The airline’s new services continue to attract international travelers, enhancing Murcia’s reputation as a premier Mediterranean destination. As Europe’s tourism recovery gains speed, Murcia’s future looks brighter than ever thanks to Volotea’s investments in connectivity.
