Cathay Pacific has revamped its renowned youth programme, ‘I Can Fly’, to inspire Hong Kong’s youth toward aviation careers. The refreshed 2025 edition introduces a structured approach, blending education, hands-on experiences, and community involvement. This initiative aims to ignite young minds while strengthening Hong Kong’s global aviation presence.
Since its launch in 2003, ‘I Can Fly’ has nurtured thousands of aspiring aviation professionals. The 2025 edition engages 2,000 participants aged 10 to 18, guiding them through a journey of education, discovery, and service. The programme recently kicked off with Aviation Explorer Days, where hundreds of students explored Cathay’s world-class facilities. These events provided a firsthand look into airline operations, fostering curiosity and ambition.
The initiative focuses on key pillars that shape future aviation leaders. The Education segment includes the I Can Fly Youth Academy, a five-month aviation training course. The Discovery phase offers exclusive exposure to Cathay’s operations. The final stage features the I Can Fly Discovery Flight, where participants experience aviation from a new perspective.
Cathay Pacific remains committed to developing young talent and reinforcing Hong Kong’s status as a global aviation hub. With over 4,400 graduates, many of whom now work in aviation, this programme continues to create opportunities for the next generation. By engaging young minds, Cathay fosters ambition and builds a skilled workforce for the industry’s future.
