Wizz Air Unveils New Routes: More Connections, More Opportunities in Campania

Wizz Air has expanded its operations in Campania, Italy, offering better connectivity to international destinations. The airline is strengthening its Naples base by adding a second Airbus A321neo aircraft, which will launch in winter 2025. This move brings new direct routes from Naples to Brașov, Romania, and Chișinău, Moldova. It also shifts the seasonal flight to Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, to year-round service to meet rising demand.

The new routes will begin in October 2025. Wizz Air will offer three weekly flights to both Brașov and Chișinău. It will also offer four weekly flights to Sharm El Sheikh. Year-round service to Sharm El Sheikh adds flexibility for passengers visiting Egypt’s resort city. With these changes, Wizz Air now operates 11 routes directly from Naples, strengthening its presence in southern Italy.

Wizz Air’s expansion in Campania includes more flights from Salerno to Bucharest and Tirana. The airline now offers 13 total routes in the region. This expansion will increase weekly departures from Naples and Salerno to 45, solidifying Wizz Air’s position as a key low-cost carrier in Italy. Additionally, the growth will create over 350 new jobs, both directly within the airline and across local industries.

This move is part of Wizz Air’s broader strategy to grow its European network. The airline’s €14 billion Customer First Compass initiative invests in fuel-efficient aircraft, improved service, and new technologies. With over 200 routes in Italy, Wizz Air shapes the future of low-cost travel in Europe and beyond.
