ITA Airways and Lufthansa Group are making European travel easier with a new codeshare agreement. This partnership, launching in March 2025, will streamline flights between Italy and key destinations such as Malta, Greece, Bulgaria, and Albania. Travelers can expect more convenience, flexibility, and a wider range of routes.
Starting March 30, 2025, passengers will access over 100 new codeshare flights. They will enjoy a smoother experience with one ticket covering multiple airlines. Checked baggage will go directly to the final destination, eliminating the hassle of rechecking at layovers. Frequent flyers will also benefit by earning and redeeming miles across both airlines’ loyalty programs.
This codeshare deal boosts connections within Italy and beyond. ITA Airways flights to cities like Alghero, Pantelleria, and Reggio di Calabria will operate under Lufthansa Group flight numbers. International routes, including Rome to Malta, Athens, Sofia, and Tirana, will also be part of the agreement. Passengers traveling through Lufthansa’s hubs will gain even more options for seamless itineraries.
By enhancing connectivity, this partnership strengthens European travel. ITA Airways passengers will access destinations across Northern, Central, and Eastern Europe with Lufthansa Group airlines. Over time, this deal will provide travelers with routes to more than 250 locations worldwide.
